Booking Terms & Conditions
1. Cancellations
- 50+ days before departure: Your deposit will be converted into account credit, and any remaining balance will be refunded.
- 49–31 days before departure: A 50% cancellation fee will apply, with any remaining balance refunded.
- Less than 30 days before departure: No refunds will be issued.
2. Flights
- All confirmed departures (unless marked as “Request to book”) are guaranteed. We recommend booking your flights as soon as possible.
- For “Request to book” departures, wait until we confirm availability before purchasing flights. Even for guaranteed departures, last-minute bookings may require accommodation availability verification before confirmation.
3. Cancellations by Outer or the Host
If your trip is canceled due to exceptional circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, border closures), you will have the option to:
- Reschedule for a future date
- Receive account credit
- Get a full refund on any cash payments
Once a choice is made, it is final.
4. Private Group Bookings
- If you wish to book a private group experience, you must request this through our Customer Experience Team before completing your booking.
- Private group bookings have different cancellation policies, which can be found in the Private Group Terms.
5. Age Requirements
All participants must be 18 years or older to join any experience.
6. Itinerary Changes
Adventure travel requires flexibility. While we aim to deliver experiences as planned, the host reserves the right to modify the itinerary, route, distances, activities, or accommodations due to factors like weather conditions, group ability, or unforeseen local circumstances.
7. Account Credit
- Account credit can be used for full or partial payment of any trip on the Outer platform and is valid for 2 years.
- Credit cannot be exchanged for cash and will be reissued as credit if a trip is canceled.
8. Insurance Requirement
- Comprehensive medical travel insurance is required to join an Outer experience.
- We also strongly recommend cancellation coverage as part of your policy.
9. Contractual Relationship
Outer acts as a marketplace platform that connects travelers with independent local hosts—referred to as "Suppliers" or "Operators"—who design and deliver the outdoor experiences listed on our site.
By booking a trip through Outer:
- You are entering into a direct contract with the Supplier/Operator, who is solely responsible for delivering the experience.
- Outer is not a party to this contract and serves only as an intermediary and facilitator of the booking.
- Your booking is governed by these Booking Terms & Conditions, as well as the Supplier’s own terms and conditions, which will be made available in your booking record.
- In case of discrepancies between terms, the cancellation policy outlined above will prevail.
