Why the Sacred Valley Is Perfect for Beginners
The Sacred Valley of the Incas isn’t just about ruins and terraces, it’s also one of South America’s best outdoor classrooms for rock climbing. Warm weather, stable limestone, and spectacular views make it the perfect place to take your first steps on the wall.
What to Expect on Your First Climb
No experience? No problem. Your guide will teach you how to put on the harness, tie knots, and trust your rope. You’ll start on simple routes that build confidence, then progress as your technique improves. The sense of achievement when you look down over the valley is unforgettable.
Safety & Local Expertise
Outer works only with certified local climbing guides who have years of experience leading travelers safely. Every route is equipped with secure bolts, and all gear, ropes, harnesses, helmets, is inspected daily.
Gear and Preparation
We provide everything you need. Just wear comfortable active clothes, sneakers or light hiking shoes, and bring water and sunscreen. If you’re into photography, bring a small camera, the valley walls and Urubamba River views are worth capturing.
When to Go

- Wet season: November to March, x1still possible, but mornings are best before showers.
